Kate Bonner is on a steady rise to success in the cycling world

Kate Bonner, 25, is the newly crowned AusCycling State Time Trial Champion and 2021 State Kermesse Champion.

Riding for VeloFit Australia Racing Team, a WA-based 2021 National Road Series team, Kate has had a tremendous month of racing and results, also winning the female category at the Collie-Donnybrook Return Classic in August.

Kate has been part of the team since 2019 and has raced with us internationally in Thailand and Vietnam while also travelling interstate to National level events.

Prior to winning the State Championship titles for Elite Women in both the Kermesse and ITT cycling disciplines. This is backing up from being this first female at the ‘Collie-Donnybrook and Return Cycling Classic’ and being the fastest female and setting a new course record at the ATTA ‘Winter in Serpentine’ event.

Although Kate has had a fantastic few weeks, if you ask her some of the highlights of her year, she will tell you about the Criterium State Championships, or the Goldfields Cyclassic, where she was able to assist and support her teammates in their victories at each event. Topping it off, the men’s side of the team also took overall victories in these events, making it an extremely memorable experience for all involved.

When Kate’s not on her bike, you can find her spending time with her dog, taking a nap, watching Italian films/shows or eating a ridiculous amount of food.

We’re looking forward to the next couple of months of racing in WA, but ultimately her sights are set towards a huge 2022 and all the exciting opportunities that will follow.

Well done Kate and all the team at VeloFit Australia.
