Karen Hennessy

Robyn Lambird now adds a bronze medal to the list of achievements

Robyn who has Cerebral Palsy and grew up in the North East of England where she said 'childhood in England was a little bit rough' and moved to Perth when she was nine.

The move to Australia saw way more opportunities for Robyn and her family. After Robyn had a massive operation when she was 12 her dad was working with Glider Amber Merritt's mum and she went and gave basketball a go.

Then she went to a 'come try day' with Rebound WA told by her current coach that there was talent there and that was it. She does also play wheelchair rugby.

Robyn is also an Instagram Influencer, 20 k followers, a model and a Modi Bodi Ambassador, a role model and now a Paralympian bronze medalist.

Women In Sport WA first met Robyn a year ago when we choose young Emily Prior as our Star of the Future that we used to run where we would present a sports card to a young girl with their picture on the front. We asked Robyn to present the card to Emily and it was just such a special moment. So we are sure that when Emily sat there watching Robyn cross the line that was even more special.

Tears have been flowing in Perth all round for the sheer pride we have for this young women.

We are all so proud of Robyn and her achievement but not only that we are so proud of her as a beautiful person inside and out.

You can watch Robyn on our You Tube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZuJc3WySiU

Also we will post the video with Robyn and Emily too.

Thank you for being you.
